WOMAN RECEIVES NEW CHARGES FOR CHILD’S MURDER
Thursday, August 27, 2026

(August 19, 2026) A mother has been rearrested on a second set of charges following an investigation into the death of her two-year-old son in April. Deanna Hilliard, 29, was taken into custody this afternoon and charged with murder/homicide by child abuse, aiding and abetting. She was booked into the Georgetown County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing tomorrow at 9 am. This new charge carries with it a minimum sentence of ten years in prison.
Hilliard was arrested last April on charges of unlawful conduct toward a child resulting in death. The conclusion of her child’s autopsy and further evidence from the investigation allowed for additional charges in the case.
Hilliard’s boyfriend, James Tillman Bradley, II, was rearrested yesterday and charged with murder/homicide by child abuse. Bradley, 33, allegedly caused blunt force trauma injuries by shaking and choking the small boy. Bradley was originally arrested in May on charges of unlawfully placing a child at risk or causing harm.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call 843-546-5102.
