ARREST AFTER WEDGEFIELD SHOOTING

Sheriff Carter Weaver has announced the arrest of a 44-year-old man following a shooting that took place at a residence on Wedgefield Road today.
Ernest McClellan, 44, is suspected of Domestic Violence of a High and Aggravated Nature and Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime after a woman was injured by gunfire. She was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
The suspect is being held in Georgetown County Detention Center pending warrants being issued by a magistrate prior to a bond hearing.
