AGENCY HOLDS HURRICANE EXERCISE
Monday, June 30, 2025

June 24, 2025 The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office held a Hurricane Exercise today, making sure our agency is ready to keep residents and property safe in the event of a major weather event. Many thanks to Emergency Services Director Brandon Ellis for guiding agency leaders as they tested their plans for evacuation notification and traffic control, hurricane shelter security, road clearing, care of inmates in case of power loss, and upstaffing for emergency response. These exercises, in addition to training sessions held with all county departments and partnering agencies like SCDOT and SCEMD, help us mobilize faster for response and recovery when a storm strikes.
